ABOUT ME
Welcome to Woodland Tarot! I have been reading tarot and oracle cards for myself and others on and off for decades and decided to pursue reading as a profession back in 2019. It started by taking classes (both in-person and online), reading and rereading several books on the subject, and watching lots of YouTube videos. I then began officially reading for interested friends who graciously let me practice on them, both in-person and online. I began documenting each reading in detail and figuring out what kind of reader I wanted to be, exactly.
My readings are intuitive and empathic versus psychic (I am a reader and interpreter of the cards; not a teller of fortunes). I read for people that are interested in pondering the infinite possibilities this life has to offer while tapping into their own intuitive sides. I use several different tarot spreads and a variety of tarot and oracle decks. My readings focus on self-development, empowerment, health and wellness, career options, life changes, self-care, recovery and more. All readings are confidential and documented with first names only.
In 2020, I made Woodland Tarot official. In 2021 we found a small retail space in Easton, MD, and I began charging for readings along with selling tarot and oracle decks. Opening up shop during a pandemic has not been easy, but it is going better than I could have hoped. Luckily, everything I do in person can be done online (you can go to my Shop and Services pages for details). I will once again offer in-person readings (by appointment) when it is safe to do so.
My business is via word of mouth, which I prefer as it is a one-woman operation and I am all about quality over quantity. I have no desire to engage in social media at present but would love it if you would join my e-mail list for a monthly newsletter. I am blogging again, as well. HOW IT STARTED
Although I was fascinated with the cards (and most things mystical) at an early age, I didn’t really play with them until I was in my twenties and had shaken off the cultural conditioning most of us experience in childhood. At that time, a coworker friend and I would read for each every now and then. It was such a great way for us to tap into our subconscious and explore thoughts and ideas we may not have considered otherwise. We didn’t know how it worked; we just knew that it did and that was good enough for us.
FUTURE VISION
My space in Easton is working out perfectly and I am looking forward to filling the shelves with more decks and lots more books soon. I will also be selling individual tarot and oracle cards from the most popular decks. This means you will be able to enjoy or gift your favorite card(s) without having to purchase an entire deck (or you will be able to replace a card that may have been accidentally bent, spilled on, torn, etc.).
